Carr Centritech
The Carr
Centritech range of bioprocessing equipment is the most extensive
of its kind, offering the industry's only complete family
of centrifuge solutions. – everything from bottles to continuous
flow. |
|
By bringing together three of the industry's leading
brands - SORVALL®, Heraeus® and Carr® - Carr Centritech
can take you from basic reaearch to pilot through to production
easily without extensive rework of your process, achieving virtually
any kind of separation from recombinant proteins to vaccines to
plasma fractionation.
BioProcess Engineering Services Ltd. have worked with Carr Centritech
in the UK & Ireland since 1997 acting as a full exclusive distributor
for the pilot scale systems and as an agent for all the larger scale
production systems.
The
Range
Large Particles – Mammalian, Human, Insect
& Plant Cells.
| Centritech®
Gentle separation/perfusion system
working at up to 250 x g. Two systems are available – Centritech®
CELL and Centritech® LAB-II. |
 |
Benefits
- Ergonomic design suited to modern laboratory environments
- Gentle cell handling coupled with dead cell removal
offers higher viability and productivity.
- Closed system with pre-sterilised disposable inserts.
- Need for CIP/SIP Eliminated
- Automated continuous separation
- Fully scalable with 5-3000 Litre perfusion bioreactors
or 5-600 Litre cell harvesting.

Viafuge®
Back
The CARR® Viafuge® range of separation
systems designed for small to large scale cell harvesting
and supernatant recovery. Capable of separating a wide variety
of mammalian and insect cells with little or no damage, The
Viafuge® offers intact cell recovery efficiencies in excess
of 99% with non-detectable cell concentrations in clarified
supernatant.
|
 |
Benefits
- Due to gentle recovery and minimal cell damage,
up to 90% reduction in downstream process filtration requirements.
- Unique SoftStream® low shear design, Feed is
matched to bowls rotational velocity, allowing fast efficient
harvesting of even the most shear sensitive of cells without causing
damage.
- Feed rates from 0.1 – 40 L/min*
- Cells can be concentrated by a factor of 30 for
the Pilot scale machine and 20 for the V12 production scale machine.
- Closed system design – Concentrated cells and
supernatant can be recovered without breaking containment.
- Fully Automated CIP/SIP option available.
- Integrates easily into automated processes.
*Actual flow rates are dependent on the
characteristics of the fluid, amount and type of solids and required
degree of clarification.
Small Particles – Bacteria, Yeast, Large subcellular components
& Plasma Proteins.

TCF-32®
Back
The TCF-32 continuous flow Rotor operated in the Discovery
series of Ultracenrifuges provides one-step processing of
pilot-scale samples at speeds of up to 32,000 rpm, RCF to
102,000 x g and flows rates of up to 9 L/hr with a maximum
volume of 940ml. |
 |
SORVALL®
CC40
Back
Achieving large-scale isolation
or purification of viruses and proteins typically involves
trade-offs, expensive consumables, large space requirements
and noise discomfort. The CC40 from SORVALL® offers a
new approach that's easy, reliable and proven and imposes
no such drawbacks. |
|
| Benefits
- High Throughput batch processing – processes
up to 200L continuously.
- Minimal Footprint, more location flexibility
– No need for a separate air turbine compressor.
- Microcomputer Control – Automatic microcomputer
digital control simplifies operation . Providing digital
display of rotor speed, time, temperature and vacuum state.
- Unattended Operation – High reliability and
automatic error detection enable walk-away operation.
- Quiet Operation – Ambient noise is only 75dB
at 40,000 rpm.
- Configuration flexibility – choose from a
variety of rotors and accessories including an optional
sample feed subsystem.
- EMC & CE compliance – Full compliance
with all relevant US and European standards.
