Charis
“At last, an intelligent approach to foam management”
| Charis Technology was established in 1994 with technology developed by a large international petrochemical company, to design and manufacture foam control systems for use with fermenter systems |
|
The customer base now includes a wide range of industries
throughout Europe and other parts of the world.
New for 2004 is a range of solid state level control
systems with the ability to accurately detect and control both liquid
level and foam simultaneously.
BioProcess Engineering Services Ltd. have worked with
Charis Technology in the UK since 1996 as a distributor principally
into the Biopharmaceutical market.

Control
| The secret behind its excellent sensitivity is its patented IMA sensing® technology. Intelligent Multi Action Sensing means it can discriminate between the residual deposits of foam that build up on the sensor itself, and the foam being created in the pocess. Effectively, the foam sensor ignores the inevitable fouling while continuing to monitor the foam. No matter ho heavily the sensor is coated, or how dense and sticky the layer, its unique construction enables it to continue measuring foam throughout the process cycle. |
